f3170c7a91 rt2800usb: slow down TX status polling
commit 36165fd5b0 upstream.

Polling TX statuses too frequently has two negative effects. First is
randomly peek CPU usage, causing overall system functioning delays.
Second bad effect is that device is not able to fill TX statuses in
H/W register on some workloads and we get lot of timeouts like below:

ieee80211 phy4: rt2800usb_entry_txstatus_timeout: Warning - TX status timeout for entry 7 in queue 2
ieee80211 phy4: rt2800usb_entry_txstatus_timeout: Warning - TX status timeout for entry 7 in queue 2
ieee80211 phy4: rt2800usb_txdone: Warning - Got TX status for an empty queue 2, dropping

This not only cause flood of messages in dmesg, but also bad throughput,
since rate scaling algorithm can not work optimally.

In the future, we should probably make polling interval be adjusted
automatically, but for now just increase values, this make mentioned
problems gone.

0e11a27ff5 rt2x00: rt2800lib: fix VGC adjustment for RT5592
commit 0beb1bbf19 upstream.

In commit 3d81535ea5
(rt2800: 5592: add chip specific vgc calculations)
the rt2800_link_tuner function has been modified to
adjust VGC level for the RT5592 chipset.

On the RT5592 chipset, the VGC level must be adjusted
only if rssi is greater than -65. However the current
code adjusts the VGC value by 0x10 regardless of the
actual chipset if the rssi value is between -80 and
-65.

Fix the broken behaviour by reordering the if-else
statements.

1f44b29361 rt2x00: fix a crash bug in the HT descriptor handling fix
commit b4089d6d8e upstream.

Commit "rt2x00: fix HT TX descriptor settings regression"
assumes that the control parameter to rt2x00mac_tx is always non-NULL.
There is an internal call in rt2x00lib_bc_buffer_iter where NULL is
passed. Fix the resulting crash by adding an initialized dummy on-stack
ieee80211_tx_control struct.

39bad38d5d rt2800: change initialization sequence to fix system freeze
commit f4e1a4d3ec upstream.

My commit

commit c630ccf1a1
Author: Stanislaw Gruszka <stf_xl@wp.pl>
Date: Sat Mar 16 19:19:46 2013 +0100

    rt2800: rearrange bbp/rfcsr initialization

make Maxim machine freeze when try to start wireless device.

Initialization order and sending MCU_BOOT_SIGNAL request, changed in
above commit, is important. Doing things incorrectly make PCIe bus
problems, which can froze the machine.

This patch change initialization sequence like vendor driver do:
function NICInitializeAsic() from
2011_1007_RT5390_RT5392_Linux_STA_V2.5.0.3_DPO (PCI devices) and
DPO_RT5572_LinuxSTA_2.6.1.3_20121022 (according Mediatek, latest driver
for RT8070/RT3070/RT3370/RT3572/RT5370/RT5372/RT5572 USB devices).
It fixes freezes on Maxim system.

beb6f0e8d2 rt2800: fix wrong TX power compensation
commit 6e956da202 upstream.

We should not do temperature compensation on devices without
EXTERNAL_TX_ALC bit set (called DynamicTxAgcControl on vendor driver).
Such devices can have totally bogus TSSI parameters on the EEPROM,
but still threaded by us as valid and result doing wrong TX power
calculations.

This fix inability to connect to AP on slightly longer distance on
some Ralink chips/devices.

5c2c155d70 rt2x00: fix stop queue
commit e2288b66fe upstream.

Since we clear QUEUE_STARTED in rt2x00queue_stop_queue(), following
call to rt2x00queue_pause_queue() reduce to noop, i.e we do not
stop queue in mac80211.

To fix that introduce rt2x00queue_pause_queue_nocheck() function,
which will stop queue in mac80211 directly.

Note that rt2x00_start_queue() explicitly set QUEUE_PAUSED bit.

Note also that reordering operations i.e. first call to
rt2x00queue_pause_queue() and then clear QUEUE_STARTED bit, will race
with rt2x00queue_unpause_queue(), so calling ieee80211_stop_queue()
directly is the only available solution to fix the problem without
major rework.

8c8d2017ba rt2800: fix RT5390 & RT3290 TX power settings regression
My change:

rt2800: use BBP_R1 for setting tx power

unfortunately does not work well with RT5390 and RT3290 chips as they
require different temperature compensation TX power settings (TSSI
tuning). Since that commit make wireless connection very unstable on
those chips, restore previous behavior to fix regression. Once we
implement proper TSSI tuning on 5390/3290 we can restore back setting
TX power by BBP_R1 register for those chips.

f0bda57104 rt2x00: provide separate information about TXWI & RXWI sizes
On new 2800 hardware sizes of TXWI & RXIW can be different than TXD

winfo_size as size of in buffer descriptor (TXWI & RXWI), and desc_size
of as size of additional descriptor - in separate DMA coherent buffer
for PCI hardware (TXD & RXD) and yet another in buffer descriptor for

58959bdcb0 rt2x00: rt2x00mmio: use rt2x00mmio prefix in function names
The functions in the rt2x00mmio module has been
moved from the rt2x00pci module. Each function
uses the rt2x00pci prefix which is a bit confusing.
Use the r2x000mmio prefix for each function to make
it consistent with the module name.

The renamed functions are used by several modules,
and updating the names in all of them would result
in a big patch. In order to keep the patch simple,
add compatibility defines for the old function
names. This allows to update the names in each
module separately. After each module is updated,
the defines can be removed.

The patch contains no functional changes.

69a2bac898 rt2x00: rt2x00pci: fix build error on Ralink RT3x5x SoCs
The rt2800pci driver supports the built-in wireless

driver for these SoCs leads to the following error:

    LD init/built-in.o
  drivers/built-in.o: In function `rt2800pci_rxdone_tasklet':
  <...>/drivers/net/wireless/rt2x00/rt2800pci.c:1012: undefined reference to `rt2x00pci_rxdone'

  drivers/built-in.o:(.rodata+0x4818): undefined reference to `rt2x00pci_regbusy_read'
  make[5]: *** [vmlinux] Error 1

The missing functions are provided by the rt2x00pci
module. This module is only selected by the rt2800pci
driver if PCI support is enabled in the kernel, because
some parts of the rt2x00pci code depends on PCI support.

PCI support is not available on the RT3x5x SoCs because
those have no PCI host controller at all.

Move the non PCI specific code from rt2x00pci into a
separate module. This makes it possible to use that
code even if PCI support is disabled. The affected
functions are used by all of the rt2x00 PCI drivers
so select the new module for those drivers.
