dfc88eac97 drm/i915/display: switch to display detected steppings
Move the stepping related macros over to display. We can proceed to
remove the compat macros from xe.

Note: Looks like we've failed to actually initialize the display
stepping for GMD ID based platforms in the xe driver. It does get set in
display runtime info, but until now the compat macro used
xe->info.step.display which was not set for GMD ID.

4446387572 drm/i915/display: identify display steppings in display probe
Both i915 and xe have code to identify display steppings. Start
deduplicating this by, uh, adding a third copy in display code. This is
not yet used for anything other than debug logging. We'll switch over
later.

For platforms before GMD ID, attach the mapping from PCI revision to
stepping in the platform and subplatform descriptors. This is a
considerably cleaner approach than having it completely separate.

Also add a separate field for stepping in display runtime info,
preserving the value from GMD ID.

785778ce21 drm/i915/display: add platform descriptors
We'll need to start identifying the platforms independently in display
code in order to break free from the i915 and xe IS_<PLATFORM>()
macros. This is fairly straightforward, as we already identify most
platforms by PCI ID in display probe anyway.

As the first step, add platform descriptors with pointers to display
info. We'll have more platforms than display info, so minimize
duplication:

- Add separate skl/kbl/cfl/cml descriptors while they share the display
  info.

- Add separate jsl/ehl descriptors while they share the display info.

Identify ADL-P (and derivatives) and DG2 descriptors by their names even
though their display info is Xe LPD or HPD.

It's confusing for INTEL_CFL_IDS() to include all WHL and CML PCI

That said, AML is special, having both KBL and CFL variants. Leave that
alone.

1435188307 drm/i915: fix display probe for IVB Q and IVB D GT2 server
The current display probe is unable to differentiate between IVB Q and
IVB D GT2 server, as they both have the same device id, but different
subvendor and subdevice. This leads to the latter being misidentified as
the former, and should just end up not having a display. However, the no
display case returns a NULL as the display device info, and promptly
oopses.

As the IVB Q case is rare, and we're anyway moving towards GMD ID,
handle the identification requiring subvendor and subdevice as a special
case first, instead of unnecessarily growing the intel_display_ids[]
array with subvendor and subdevice.

757b90bbfa drm/i915/display: pre-initialize some values in probe_gmdid_display()
When intel_display_device_probe() (and, subsequently,
probe_gmdid_display()) returns, the caller expects ver, rel and step
to be initialized. Since there's no way to check that there was a
failure and no_display was returned without some further refactoring,
pre-initiliaze all these values to zero to keep it simple and safe.

290d161045 Revert "drm/i915: use localized __diag_ignore_all() instead of per file"
This reverts commit 88e9664434.

__diag_ignore_all() only works for GCC 8 or later.

-Woverride-init (from -Wextra, enabled in i915 Makefile) combined with
CONFIG_WERROR=y or W=e breaks the build for older GCC.

With i386_defconfig and x86_64_defconfig enabling CONFIG_WERROR=y by
default, we really need to roll back the change.

An alternative would be to disable -Woverride-init in the Makefile for
GCC <8, but the revert seems like the safest bet now.

4ae7eb9277 drm/i915: separate display info printing from the rest
Add new function intel_display_device_info_print() and print the display
device info there instead of intel_device_info_print(). This also fixes
the display runtime info printing to use the actual runtime info instead
of the static defaults.
