"Here is the large set of driver core changes for 6.3-rc1.
There's a lot of changes this development cycle, most of the work
falls into two different categories:
- fw_devlink fixes and updates. This has gone through numerous review
cycles and lots of review and testing by lots of different devices.
Hopefully all should be good now, and Saravana will be keeping a
watch for any potential regression on odd embedded systems.
- driver core changes to work to make struct bus_type able to be
moved into read-only memory (i.e. const) The recent work with Rust
has pointed out a number of areas in the driver core where we are
passing around and working with structures that really do not have
to be dynamic at all, and they should be able to be read-only
making things safer overall. This is the contuation of that work
(started last release with kobject changes) in moving struct
bus_type to be constant. We didn't quite make it for this release,
but the remaining patches will be finished up for the release after
this one, but the groundwork has been laid for this effort.
Other than that we have in here:
- debugfs memory leak fixes in some subsystems
- error path cleanups and fixes for some never-able-to-be-hit
codepaths.
- cacheinfo rework and fixes
- Other tiny fixes, full details are in the shortlog
All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
problems"

"Here is the "boring" staging driver update for 6.3-rc1.
Nothing major in here at all, it's just lots of tiny code cleanups to
bring some of the staging drivers more in line with the real portion
of the kernel (apis and coding style.) Overall we remove more lines of
code than we add, always a nice result.
The big work was done by Martin Kaiser and Philipp Hortmann, both
tackling some of the older wifi drivers, removing unused code and
structures and a file in one case.

In the greybus audio_helper code, the debugfs file for the dapm has the
potential to be removed and memory will be leaked. There is also the
very real potential for this code to remove ALL debugfs entries from the
system, and it seems like this is what will really happen if this code
ever runs. This all is very wrong as the greybus audio driver did not
create this debugfs file, the sound core did and controls the lifespan
of it.
So remove all of the debugfs logic from the audio_helper code as there's
no way it could be correct. If this really is needed, it can come back
with a fixup for the incorrect usage of the debugfs_lookup() call which
is what caused this to be noticed at all.

gbaudio_dapm_free_controls() iterates over widgets using
list_for_each_entry_safe(), which leaves the loop cursor pointing to a
meaningless structure if it completes a traversal of the list. The
cursor was set to NULL at the end of the loop body, but would be
overwritten by the final loop cursor update.
Because of this behavior, the widget could be non-null after the loop
even if the widget wasn't found, and the cleanup logic would treat the
pointer as a valid widget to free.
To fix this, introduce a temporary variable to act as the loop cursor
and copy it to a variable that can be accessed after the loop finishes.
This was detected with the help of Coccinelle.

"Here is the big set of staging driver updates for 5.19-rc1.
Lots of forward progress happened this development cycle, one driver
(wfx wireless driver) got merged into the real portion of the kernel,
and another one (unisys) was removed as no one is around anymore to
take care of it and no one has the hardware. Combined with loads of
tiny driver cleanups overall we removed 13k lines of code from the
tree, a nice improvement.
Other than the wfx and unisys driver changes the major points of this
merge is:
- r8188eu driver cleanups. So many cleanups. It's amazing just how
many things have been cleaned up here, and yet, how many remain to
go. Lots of work happened here, and it doesn't look to slow down
any time soon.
- other wifi driver cleanups. Not as many as the r8188eu driver, but
still pretty impressive from a janitorial point of view.
- bcm2853 driver cleanups
- other very minor driver cleanups
All of these have been in the linux-next tree for weeks with no
reported issues"

snd_soc_card_jack_new() allowed to create jack kcontrol without pins,
but did not create kcontrols. The jack would not have kcontrols if pins
were not going to be added.
This renames the old snd_soc_card_jack_new() to
snd_soc_card_jack_new_pins() for use when pins are provided or will be
added later. The new snd_soc_card_jack_new() appropriately creates a
jack for use without pins and adds a kcontrol.

Remove the optional remove callback for the soc_codec_dev_gbaudio
structure. The only place it is referenced is
snd_soc_component_remove() which is only called if the sound_component
pointer is non-null. The null function pointers here can be optionally
ommitted. When a sound component is registered this way, the remove
callback is optional. We can safely remove the whole gbcodec_remove
function, which used to be an empty function with a void return type.

-rc1 is out
- major cleanups and unwinding of the layers of the r8188eu driver.
It's amazing just how many unneeded layers of abstraction is in
there, just when we think it's done, another is found...

Pull Kbuild update for C11 language base from Masahiro Yamada:
"Kbuild -std=gnu11 updates for v5.18
Linus pointed out the benefits of C99 some years ago, especially
variable declarations in loops [1]. At that time, we were not ready
for the migration due to old compilers.
Recently, Jakob Koschel reported a bug in list_for_each_entry(), which
leaks the invalid pointer out of the loop [2]. In the discussion, we
agreed that the time had come. Now that GCC 5.1 is the minimum
compiler version, there is nothing to prevent us from going to
-std=gnu99, or even straight to -std=gnu11.
Discussions for a better list iterator implementation are ongoing, but
this patch set must land first"

As a preparation for moving to -std=gnu11, turn off the
-Wshift-negative-value option. This warning is enabled by gcc when
building with -Wextra for c99 or higher, but not for c89. Since
the kernel already relies on well-defined overflow behavior,
the warning is not helpful and can simply be disabled in
all locations that use -Wextra.

As the possible alloc failure of devm_kcalloc(), it could return null
pointer.
Therefore, 'strings' should be checked and return NULL if alloc fails to
prevent the dereference of the NULL pointer.
Also, the caller should also deal with the return value of the
gb_generate_enum_strings() and return -ENOMEM if returns NULL.
Moreover, because the memory allocated with devm_kzalloc() will be
freed automatically when the last reference to the device is dropped,
the 'gbe' in gbaudio_tplg_create_enum_kctl() and
gbaudio_tplg_create_enum_ctl() do not need to free manually.
But the 'control' in gbaudio_tplg_create_widget() and
gbaudio_tplg_process_kcontrols() has a specially error handle to
cleanup.
So it should be better to cleanup 'control' when fails.

Sparse complains that:
warning: restricted send_ctl_elem_iface_t degrades to integer.
I have looked at this code, and the code is fine as-is. Normally we
would frown on using the __force directive to silence Sparse warnings
but in this case it's fine. Case statements can't be made into __bitwise
types. We also can't change the type of "ctl->iface" either because that
is part of the user space API.
So just add a (__force int) to make the warning go away.
