Users have reported log spam created by "Event Ring Full" xHC event TRBs. These are caused by interrupt latency in conjunction with a very busy set of devices on the bus. The errors are benign, but throughput will suffer as the xHC will pause processing of transfers until the event ring is drained by the kernel. Expand the number of event TRB slots available by increasing the number of event ring segments in the ERST. Controllers have a hardware-defined limit as to the number of ERST entries they can process, so make the actual number in use min(ERST_MAX_SEGS, hw_max). Linux kernel
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use make htmldocs or
make pdfdocs. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
